On Tuesday 27th September 2022, DYW launched our annual equalities social media campaign across Scotland – A Job For Everybody. This year the campaign coincided with National Inclusion Week and Young Persons Guarantee and was aimed at employers, parents, carers and young people.
Across social media we shared stories and experiences which promote, illustrate and celebrate diversity and inclusion in the workplace, giving real life examples and demonstrate the range of support available for young people and employers.
The campaign aimed to:
In Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian we shared a range of organisations who offer support to those with potential barriers to employment and those who offer support to employers when recruiting people with additional support needs. Such as MCR Pathways, Career Ready, Different Minds, Enable Scotland and Young Scot.
We also highlighted a range of successful people who are well known across the world who have additional support needs, such as Steven Hawking, Nick Vujicic, Andrea Boccelli, Muhammad Ali and Tim Burton.
This year’s campaign was a great success with the hashtag being used in 384 posts by 124 users, reaching 284,810 and gaining 850 engagements with 958,255 impressions.
