Viridor in collaboration with DYW, East Lothian Council, has produced a number of educational video resources to be used to bring to life the maths and science curriculum areas.
Emma Duncan is aiming to double the number of Young Person’s Guarantee sign ups and is doing so by including Young Person’s Guarantee in all conversations with employers. When canvassing new employers, Emma is discussing how employers can engage with DYW by sending them the Young Person’s Guarantee proforma and explaining that by completing any of the 5 Asks of the Young Person’s Guarantee, they will be successfully supporting young people to reach positive destinations.
No Wrong Path is a social media campaign aiming to show young people receiving their exam results that there is #NoWrongPath to success.
On Tuesday 27th September 2022, DYW launched our annual equalities social media campaign across Scotland – A Job For Everybody. This year the campaign coincided with National Inclusion Week and Young Persons Guarantee and was aimed at employers, parents, carers and young people.
Developing the Young Workforce celebrated the achievements and resilience of young people across Scotland through the new Young People Are Great campaign, which ran from 6th-10th June 2022.
On 5th April 2022, DYW Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian and Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce hosted our first joint Networking Breakfast at the Apex Hotel, Waterloo Place.
From October 2021-April 2022 DYW Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian hosted a Jayden Anderson, a Business Skill Foundation Apprentice from North Berwick High School. Throughout his time with the team Jayden was based within the central team and worked a combination of in the office and from home, managed by our Business Support and Communications Officer, Emma Lacey.
Jayden Anderson, a 5th year student at North Berwick High School was on a work placement with DYW Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian as part of his Foundation Apprenticeship. Jayden wanted to show young people who DYW are and how they are here to help young people achieve your goals in life and set them up for the careers they want to pursue.
