Employers want Work Ready Young people. But what does this mean in reality?
Our 2019 Regional Conference, hosted on 22nd May 2019 at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, will bring together young people, educators and industry to explore the meaning of work readiness, what is involved and how we can all work together to make a difference for the young people in our region.
Work readiness has been identified as one of the top key drivers of employer engagement in education. Yet research suggests there is a contradiction between what employers want and what young people think employers want, so the definition of work readiness varies between industry seeking talent and young people looking for their first step on the career ladder.
With this in mind and two years remaining to deliver the ambitions of Scotland's Youth Employment Strategy, DYW Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian bring you their Work Ready? Regional Conference 2019, raising awareness of what Work Ready really is and how we can all be involved.
