Following our WorkReady? Regional Conference we now launch our #CreateDontWait campaign which aims to empower young people to proactively take control of their time while in education and beyond, to pursue activities which will support the development of transferable skills for the world of work, supporting them to be ‘Work Ready’.
Rather than waiting for opportunities to find them, young people are asked to be creative. By instilling the idea of an individual’s ability to curate their own career/skills as early on as possible, the campaign will seek to inspire and empower young people to gather vital skills and experience, which could get them closer to the path they’d like to take in life.
Throughout June we plan to share the stories of how young people, educators and employers are supporting the creation of work ready stories. DYW is not about waiting for work ready young people to turn up at our work places and it is not about somebody else's job to support young people to be work ready. This campaign also highlights the importance industry and educators play in supporting young people to be work ready, how we all have a role to play and what support is out there to help you get involved.
Here's how to pledge your support for the campaign and get involved.
In June, either post a photograph of yourself holding a filled in copy of our #CreateDontWait campaign template (Download you campaign pack HERE) or shake it up with a video? Remember to use #CreateDontWait and tag us.
