Now more than ever it’s vital that we celebrate and showcase the essential jobs that key workers across Scotland are doing. In the first week of June the national Developing the Young Workforce network are coming together for the #DYWKeyWorkers campaign.
The 21 regional DYW groups are working together to continue to inspire young people to consider a variety of careers when being home schooled and who better to do that but parents and guardians.
Whether you’re mentoring young people through work placements, apprenticeships or jobs this free training webinar offers practical insights and guidance to hone the skills required. During the session you will explore key mentoring skills and will also receive a detailed guide to mentoring that is packed full of practical hints and tips as well as sources of reference for further self-directed learning.
Returning for a 5th year Jobs Roadshow will see around 70 employers with live vacancies come face to face with young people at Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange on Wednesday 4th March with the aim to get Scotland’s future workforce Informed, Inspired and Hired.
Nationally, Developing the Young Workforce announced ‘Youth unemployment has decreased by 48%’ however; there is a complex picture underneath this headline position, and one in which it is apparent that some groups of young people are particularly disadvantaged.
This workshop will provide you with support in the delivery of meaningful work placements for young people that offer the best value to your business.
