Developing the Young Workforce Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian is urging local apprentice employers and apprentices to get involved in the 2019 Scottish Apprenticeship Challenge, to make a difference in their area.
This challenge, running from September 2019 to January 2020 and supported by Skills Development Scotland, will see groups of apprentices take on projects to benefit their local community.
The challenge is open to teams of apprentices or individual apprentices from any sector – from construction to hospitality and engineering to ICT and Digital – either from the private or public sector.
Projects can be anything from supporting local schools or community projects to charity work.
The challenge aims to create community benefits, build community engagement and raise the profile of apprenticeships at a local and national level.
To register your interest in the Apprenticeship Challenge download the registration form HERE and return to firstname.lastname@example.org before Friday 6th September. You will then receive your welcome pack and support information.
Projects must be completed by Friday 31st January and will involve submission of a project portfolio including a report, presentation and video. Participants will be invited to attend a presentation ceremony in Mid-February where an overall winner will be announced. Regional winners will then have the success of their projects showcased at the Scottish Apprenticeship Awards in 2020.
